Shoppolis Islands Information

My name is Fennel, and I have been in business on these islands since I can remember, and one thing I can say, "Shoppolis Islands is not like anywhere else."  It is not a member of any other community than the world community of nations.  SI is a nation with a homeland, and that is what you see when you look at the maps.  On the other hand, when the founders of our nation decided to consolidate itself into an independent state, they dispersed their influence around the globe as a smart way to ensure SI's ultimate survival.  In many ways each nation of the world is somewhat dependent on SI since we have a gold reserve that is quite impressive.  It has been distributed about the world to ensure its safety, and is visited occasionally by interested parties to ensure its existence and value.  No one has disputed SI's wealth to date.  As a matter of fact, there have been motions to try to steal it, compromise it, and otherwise make it either go away or become the property of someone else.  As of this time, no one has been able to.  Since our government, if you want to call it that, is not inflationary, because ours is a business that has to make a profit or break even when evaluated.  If not, we make adjustments, as a nation, to correct it.  Our money is in SI dollars and is manipulated in sync with the American system to make it easy to understand and work with.  In many ways, there is no overhead in SI.  We are a trade country, willing to barter with anyone anytime.  We enjoy a prosperity and stability not shared by any other nation.  Just in case anything happens to gold, SI can shift to a diamond standard or the like.  We have great stores of metals and gems accumulated back when a great many commodities were used in trade.  When we accepted these, including ancient artifacts, art and other marketable items, our founders kept them, and we are so glad they did.

Table of World Monies

Table of World Monies

Terence LeGrande and his staff at the SI Bank in Shoppolis Islands ran out a listing of world monies for us to place here for your enjoyment and edification.  It contains most of the world's countries and the unit of money they apply.  These are quite helpful to our bank, because our staff is continually working with other countries when we buy from them, or they buy from us.  Terence originally came from South Africa, then moved to Egypt where he was in international banking.  Once he was done there, he brought his expertise and interests to SI.  We are delighted he did.  He brought his wife Ola with him, as well as his three children, Say, Nita and Neesa.  Terence has assisted SI immensely, primarily because of his knowledge of world treasures and their values.
