My
name is Jack, and I am a real estate agent with HRE Real Estate. I have
been asked to explain the aspect of my science to you, so here goes. The
homes in Shoppolis Islands are varied and represent a number of classic styles,
islandic styles and character designs from all cultures of the world. SI
probably has more eclecticism that most cultures because of the variety of
people who have settled here. Since no one owns property in SI, the
buildings placed on them are considered ad-ons. People own their homes and
what is on the land, but not the land itself. Each of us pays rent for the
land...it is not a tax based on an assessment. The reason for this is to
make sure that a fair amount is paid based on the perceived application of the
property. Over 75% of the citizens of SI have set their own payment
schedule with the Executive Staff and have been approved to do so. Also,
many who can pay, pay for those who, for one reason or another, cannot
pay. Property owned by anyone over 75 is exempt from any payment at all as
long as the person provides some type of service to the community. Our
elderly do not suffer for companionship, since visiting one another is
considered a community service. Some of their dances are more than
delightful to attend, and our SI cloggers who average 22 in age, learned all
their showmanship and abilities to those over 75. Fun has a long
memory. All types of buildings exist, in all styles and tastes because of
who builds them. If a couple comes from Shanghai and decides to build a
strong representational structure to house themselves, not much is said as long
as the building meets certain basic requirements. If the couple leaves SI
and decides to sell their structure instead of renting it out, which many do,
and no one buys it, they have to continue to pay rent or remove the structure
from the land, so someone else can rent and build. Some buildings have a
lifetime measured in years, and some in decades and some in centuries, but
regardless, the same rules apply. If a large Georgian is replaced with a
marvelous Palladian or a Queen Ann, that's the way it is. Buildings that
are turned over to SI for disposition are offered to those who need short to
medium-time housing for whatever reason. Those that are not able to be
disposed of through sale or rental are cleared of the building methodically in a
manner where all collected materials are placed into categories for purchase by
builders or home/business owners who can buy these items and use them. It
is a form of recycling where even straight nails are used again, if possible.
If you would like to take a stroll through one of our neighborhoods and learn about our architecture and the rich histories that go with each, visit here in the near future for a marvelous tour. Our homes will be shown to you, and you will be treated to their locations, their histories and more. Please come back.
