    Shoppolis Islands Information

My name is Breck, and I am a native American, better known to many as an Indian.  I have been given the privelege to be spokesman for SI's more mystical side.  The occult fascinates most people regardless of their past experiences or cultures.  The mystery of the mind is more powerful than many weapons of the lands.  If this power can be captured and applied in some manner, the individual becomes infinitely influential and holds many in his/her hands.  On Shoppolis Islands, the occult and practice of metaphysics are considered to be religions and it are treated in the same way, namely, as ways a person deals with the unknown.  It is a complete freedom to practice any art one chooses on SI as long as it is kept private.  Janis Keptman is an individual who is practiced in the occult and offers her talents to anyone willing to accept her as an instructress or advisor.  This is well within the confines of SI law.  In the event she wishes to incite activity within the community, or provides any public demonstration, she would be in violation.  Because of her expertise, experience, references, practices and openness, Janis is on the Board of Personal Practices of the Executive Staff to ensure that her beliefs are as protected and monitored as anyone else's.

Hi.  My name is Carlos, and I, like Breck, come from the Americas. I would like to continue for both of us.  Here we go.  Lane Crowley is a scientist who takes his science and drives it to the limits of speculation and probability.  His idea of enlightenment, may bewilder most common folk, but his students and those who perform research for him, are avid admirers.  Lane has contributed greatly to the minds of our young people by instructing in Astronomy, his chosen profession, and in Cosmology, his avocation.  Those who head the various world religions among other leaders in SI make sure that predomination is not achieved by anyone against their will (or ability to ward away).  The human mind has a powerful imagination, and this propensity has to be protected against anyone who can manipulate imagination at will.

Some Words and Concepts to Consider

Some Words and Concepts to Consider

a poem by G. St. John Cullinan

There is alchemy, a science of gold, elixers, water for agelessness, and......

Comes the sorcerer, comes the sorceress practicing this art until each is good at what he and she does.

Fortune telling, a way to split cookies after a robust Chinese dinner; prophecies?  Lottery numbers to play?

Who is making predictions and divining for my water or is this another name for elixer or something for agelessness?

Seeking or consulting spirits, I dream, conjuring up the images and interpreting dreams, visions; foreseeing and interpreting omens?

Should I want to know a person's characteristics or propensities by consulting astrology?  Too easy, huh?

May I worship stars as a Chaldean, caress witchcraft and exercise great care not to insult anything?

I like magic and the magic arts and finger magic charms in stores, but I would never buy one.  What if it was the wrong one?

Who is casting of spells and enjoying it, mayhaps it is I?  Nope.  Potent spells; applying the Maji; attending seances, hmm.

What is elekinesis; levitation; automatic writing; clairvoyance; trances; materializations; visions; psychic healing; remembrance of past lives (reincarnation);

transcendental meditation; yoga; altered consciousness; mental telepathy; palmistry; waterwitching; ouija boards; numerology; biorhythms; pyramidology; the reading

of crystal balls; auras; tarot cards; tea leaves; soul travel; paranormal; supernatural; esoteric; pantheistism; speaking in tongue?  You tell me.

I have no idea, because I do not deal with the things I do not understand for fear that they might understand me.

The word occult comes from the Latin occultus which means concealed, and I wouldn't dare hide anything from you.  Would I?
