A LUCRATIVE BUILDING MANAGEMENT BUSINESS

Yellow Building Office Leasing, Ltd.

Yellow Building

218 6th and Marysdock, Shoppolis City, East Island, SI

x

This three-story art-deco building was constructed in 1959 by Lewis Bainbridge who had the foresight to see the need for SI office space.  When he chose the colors, primarily yellow with russet details and gray cement, he did not know that the popular Shoppolis City building would end up being called the "yellow building."  It's prime location in the city and its popularity make the business a desireable one.  The ownership of the building remains in the Bainbridge family who still reside on one of our outer islands, Loveladies, but the management of the site is always leased out.  If this is your idea of a wonderful fun-lease, we agree.

x

WHOLESALE FABRICS FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD FOR STYLE

The Clothing Hub

16 Anchor, Shoppolis City, East Island, SI

The Clothing Hub, situated in the old International Cloth building, is a unique style business, because it does not represent a single line of clothing, nor a particular type of style.  This store, owned and operated by Cleo Alani, represents almost all clothing designers and manufacturers including those representing particular cultures.  She works closely with the trio in Cultural and has added an infant area called Baby Stuff.  Baby Stuff is self-explanatory.  This department is operated by a retired Pediatrician, Dr. Lan Oregian of Oregon, USA.  This is interesting, because Dr. Or, as he is called, invented a number of apparel items for infants and children during his tenure as a practicing doctor.  When he retired, he knew of Shoppolis Islands and decided to invest here.  We are delighted he did.  The Hub is now up for lease because romance stole the day, namely, Cleo and Dr. Or are now married and traveling for their honeymoon.  The Hub is up for lease for only one year.

x

MOVING AND STORAGE BUSINESS RIGHT IN "THE CITY"

Galleon Moving and Storage

Fortesque and 5th Street, Shoppolis City, East Island, SI

x

Galleon was started at the turn of the twentieth century by Garos and Hemley Chernick by applying the power of one horse and a large, cumbersome carriage.  The business was passed down through the generations and is now in the hands of three sisters, Ani, Politchka and Pria, all of whom have other plans for their lives.  They, upon the recommendations from their family lawyer, have decided to lease the business rather than sell it.  Since the number of actual sites for the business is twenty, the SI site is considered the most closely related to the family.  They will only lease to those who respect their family values which are quite high.  If you have a strong feeling for quality and performance, this is the business for you.

A COIN AND STAMP MERCHANDISING FIRM

Coins & Stamps Emporium

1105 Kelly's Run, South Beach, East Island, SI

x

Coins & Stamps specializes in the collection of coins and stamps from all over the world.  This emporium has been run by Ezra Roy and his wife Danielle since 1960.  Bevar Sandit, a native of Senegal, got interested in coins and stamps when he found that a friend of his from Oxford wanted to have his father's collection sold.  Bevar managed to sell them on the open market, because of his father's position in embassy work, for a tidy sum and became the focus of others who wanted him to find more.  This led to his eventual gravitation to SI because of its remote location and reputation as a commercial site for exchange of international goods and services.  He joined the Roys in 1978. Bevar, eventually married to Ezra Roy's second daughter, Annie, who is an acknowledged expert in first-day covers and has become a celebrity in her field.  Recently, the family has decided to go into other pursuits and has put the business up for lease.

LEISURE PRODUCTS FOR FUN AND RELAXATION

Shoppolis Islands Leisure Products, Inc.

6 Fronds, East Park, East Island, SI

x

Since Shoppolis Islands is also a site for leisurely pursuits, Paul and Anne Degner offer their selection of diversions to you.  They have an eye on the world and are famous for their assortment of exotic offerings as well as standard game room and arcade devices.  One of the key marketing points of their business is their wide variety of categories.  This comes from Anne's history as a world representative for a manufacturer of table games; she is the acknowledged master at some commercial games, and is willing to accept a challenge from any customer; she has not lost yet.  SI is a year-around playground because of its excellent, warm weather and water orientation, therefore SILP addresses all four seasons of items, particularly a wide range of outside leisure products.  SILP is located across from the Degner home in East Park.  The business has been placed on the list of businesses to lease, since Paul has developed health problems that prevent him from managing the store.

x

A COMPLETELY LOG-CONSTRUCTED BAR AND SKY GRILL

Log Cabin Grill and Sky Patio

Palisades on the Beach, Palisades, Tea Cup Bay, East Island, SI

x

Bars and Taverns around the world, are an integral part of David West's Australian heritage when he and his family founded the Log Cabin Grill & Sky Patio in 1970.  David, recently retired, has passed on his expertise to his daughter, Penny, who also subscribes to the philosophy that one does not fly on one wing, nor drink a wink without a bite to eat.  Just sit around in the LCG and watch the world of bars and taverns open to you.  Their establishment is right on the beach in the quiet of Tea Cup Bay, convenient to all beach goers and party people.  It is also a good place to stretch your legs ashore after having spent up to months on some of the yachts that frequent the bay.  Penny has recently married John Cassidy, and is considering a temporary move to Perth, therefore the Grill is up for lease for one year.  If you have the ability to keep up with partying customers and beach-goers, this business is for you.

TWO CAMINO BUILDING RETAIL BUSINESSES

Rainwater Computer Systems

56a (left side) Givens, East Park Point, East Island, SI

x

Hiram Rainwater transferred his prosperous computer hardware and software business to Shoppolis Islands in 1980 from California.  The native American and his family relocated because of the rigors of business and the fact that his firm was taking up too much of his time.  By developing an incredible database of worldwide computer equipment/software, used, new and innovative, he became a center for technological exchange.  He was able to work his family members into the firm and raise his sons and daughters in an island paradise.  He also now has time to enjoy his prosperity and his family, and has decided to open another store in the United States.  The business in SI is still flourishing, and is up for lease to an individual who loves computers and the world of software and hardware.

Personals

56b (right side) Givens, East Park Point, East Island, SI

x

Personals is a service more than a knowledge base, but owners Patsy and Craig Worth include consulting as well.  Each is a practicing Psychologist, and Patsy is on the School Board.  They believe that people all over the world should communicate their needs, wants and situations to the entire population rather than in one corner or Island.  Personals is a wide-open information conduit for those who need and want it.  Patsy and Craig often sit with SI residents and chat over their situations at no charge.

A LOST AND FOUND BARGAIN BUSINESS ON A BARGE AT A PIER

Lost and Found Bargain Shoppe

Charter Docks, Pier 3 on the Bulkhead, Ben Bow, East Island, SI

x

Since Shoppolis Islands personnel lose things all the time, just like in other parts of the world, we have a Lost and Found, sponsored by the Executive Staff of SI as well as the businesses in our community.  Not only is the assortment great, but the facility is unique.  The building sits on a barge in Ben Bow and can be moved, if need be.  During a particular period of maintenance in 1987, patrons had to travel over to Kitt and visit Lost and Found while it was worked on in the West Island Yachts yard.  At the moment, the barge is back in its familiar place along with Brenda Quon, proprietor and owner.  If you have lost something or wish to find an item, and it is on the global level, list it with Brenda.  She has a way with lost items.  She has decided to retire from the business and live on her yacht, Fully Found, that is moored some docks away in the Charter Docks.  The business is now on the list of prime leasings on SI.

x

A UNIQUE METAPHYSICAL BOOKSTORE AND RECORD EMPORIUM

Castle Books & Records

9 Ledgeview, The Ledges, West Island, SI

x

Shoppolis Islands is a remote facility, and as such, has a small society.  Since SI is a world business environment, the number of versions of the same thought is quite extensive.  Conversations abound in our social areas because of this and because of our assortment of views on the same subject, and our single views on an assortment of subjects.  This type of interchange brought J.K. Lemon & Company to our Islands.  Owners, Fizar Barr and Fitzsimmons Grey converted the former castle building  into a remarkable enchanting world unto itself.  Within its walls, the Hall of Metaphysics holds the bulk of world thought and interpretation.  There are many varieties of product and many forms of expression.  The Hall, located in The Ledges of West Island, sits in a secluded, highly wooded lot, which makes it more enchanting than would otherwise be possible.  The building's unique appearance, incongruous to some, presents itself beautifully in its current location.  The business is now up for leasing, and if you like this type of business, it is perfect.

A FLOURISHING REAL ESTATE BUSINESS ON SI

HRE Real Estate, Crosstrees Office Complex

The Cannon Building, 30 Crosstrees, The Gorge, East Island, SI

x

HRE Real Estate has just built a new building on their old location..  Their former office in East Point, is available for lease in order to maintain current client loads.  HRE arranges almost all of the private home transactions on SI, but will, most likely, have to share with other firms when the other islands are opened. The walls of the old Bombay estate, previously occupying the lot just off Fishermen Cove, were retained as well as the well-known twin-ball fountains and tree-lined gardens.  The current, and youngest Eddings, Rodney Ellis, specified the building which was built by our own Island builders, Crayton Long Builders, with excavation support provided by Grace Heavy Equipment.  When the building was completed, a 13-Island Plan, was revealed on a huge flat display, under glass, in the lobby.  Rod showed all those who attended the opening, in clear terms, how our SI complex will grow in harmony with our natural environment over the next ten years.  Populating the remaining eleven islands with businesses and their staffs (owners and operators), as well as, providing for all the logistical support and required infrastructure, will be quite a task.  All business and residents' representatives were dutifully impressed.  The issue of too many businesses of the same type was addressed with a statute to restrict all new businesses to firms representing an area of the world economy not currently in place on any of the Islands.  Because of the nature of the Islands, no one "owns" their land; they lease or rent it.  Some people might equate this to a land tax of sorts, but we prefer to think that we each rent/lease our individual land from our collective ownership of all the land.  There are quite a few very desirable private home sites available, so, if you choose to lease this remote office, there will be plenty of work to do.

ONLY DINER ON WEST ISLAND
