Her purpose was to convey her crew, owners, guests and others across expanses of sea by cutting her way through. Fortress literally cuts her way through waves, has full foam embedded flotation for safety and sufficient ballast and tankage (in keel tanks) to render her self-righting in case of capsize. In many ways her hull is more like a submarine than a surface ship. Her unique flying bridge is equipped with belted seats acquired from the manufacturer who provides coast guard seating. She is a fisherman and can be used in any events. An upper lounge is designed for seating while underway, and is designed to be efficient as well as comfortable. A number of other yachts, of different sizes, have been built to the Fortress-class by NavyShips of SI.

Originally designed on the Fortress-Class hull, the prospective owner bet the designers that they couldn't make this vessel, fast, light and agile. The bet was on, and the Hevvy Croozer was the result. The sea trials even surprised the designers. Since she was supposed to have the enclosed bridge, which would add weight, she could probably be made to go even faster if this was removed. The owner liked the bridge and also liked the new speed and handling. Hevvy Croozer maintains a steady 30 knots with her turbo diesels pulsing below. Her reduced tankage made her a short-distance yacht; you might want to find a few hardened friends take the boat out and purposely slam her into the rising ocean just for the thrills.
